Μαζί με την ανακοίνωση των υποψηφιοτήτων για τα Χρυσά Βατόμουρα ακολουθεί πάντα και η ανακοίνωση των υποψηφιοτήτων των Oscars. Μάλιστα ηθοποιοί που είναι υποψήφιοι για τα Χρυσά Βατόμουρα είναι στις αντίστοιχες κατηγορίες των Oscars, όπως για παράδειγμα η Ana De Armas.
Η αντίστροφη μέτρηση για την 95η τελετή των Oscars έχει ξεκινήσει και την Τρίτη στις 24 Ιανουαρίου οι ηθοποιοί Alison Williams και Riz Ahmed ανακοίνωσαν τις υποψήφιες για το Χρυσό Αγαλματίδιο ταινίες και ονόματα από το Μπέβερλι Χιλς της Καλιφόρνια.
Οι ταινίες «Τα Πάντα Ολα» (Everything Everywhere All at Once) των Dan Kwan και Daniel Scheinert με 11 υποψηφιότητες και τα «Πνεύματα του Ινισέριν» (The Banshees of Inisherin) του Martin McDonagh μαζί με το γερμανικό πολεμικό δράμα του Netflix «All Quiet on the Western Front» του Edward Berger, με 9 υποψηφιότητες αντίστοιχα, προηγούνται στην κούρσα των φετινών Όσκαρ, διεκδικώντας βραβεία στις περισσότερες και πιο σημαντικές κατηγορίες.
Ακολουθούν οι ταινίες «Elvis» με 8 υποψηφιότητες, το «Maverick» με 6, το «Black Panther: Wakanda Forever» με 5, το «Avatar: The Way of Water» με 4, ενώ από 3 έχουν οι ταινίες «Η Φάλαινα», «Babylon» και το ελληνικής συμπαραγωγής «Τρίγωνο της θλίψης».
Για τo Oscar Α’ Αντρικού Ρόλου θα διασταυρώσουν τα ξίφη τους οι Austin Butler (Elvis), Colin Farrell (The Banshees of Inisherin), Brendan Fraser (“The Whale”), Paul Mescal (Aftersun), Bill Nighy (Living). Το Oscar A’ Γυναικείου Ρόλου θα διεκδικήσουν οι Cate Blanchett (Tar), Ana de Armas (Blonde), Andrea Riseborough (To Leslie), Michelle Williams (The Fablemans), Michelle Yeoh (Everything Everywhere All at Once).
Για Καλύτερο Πρωτότυπο Τραγούδι υποψήφιες είναι η Lady Gaga με το «Black Panther: Wakanda Forever» και η Rihanna η οποία επέστρεψε στη μουσική σκηνή μετά από μεγάλη απουσία ερμηνεύοντας το τραγούδι «Top Gun:Maverick».
Η 95η τελετή απονομής θα πραγματοποιηθεί την Κυριακή 12 Μαρτίου 2023 στο Dolby Theatre του Λος Άντζελες και θα μεταδοθεί από το αμερικανικό τηλεοπτικό δίκτυο NBC.
